Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) seeks On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians for Southern California projects. Candidates will monitor archaeological and/or paleontological resources on active construction sites, document findings, and coordinate with project staff.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology/geology or related field, be able to travel, and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology/geology or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year field experience or relevant academic field experience in Southern California.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and commutable to ESA offices.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive 4x4 off-road vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities and identify archaeological/paleontological resources.
• Communicate effectively with construction crews and project personnel.
• Write and maintain daily survey logs, monitoring records, and cataloging using data collection tools and GIS.
