Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking on-call Archaeological Field Technicians to support Southern California projects. You will monitor construction activities for archaeological and paleontological resources and document findings using field recordation tools and GIS mapping.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology/geology or related field and be willing to travel to various ESA office locations throughout Southern California.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology/geology or related field.
Experience with field monitoring and documentation of archaeological/paleontological resources.
Ability to use app-based software for field recordation and mapping.
Willingness to travel for field projects and site visits.

Responsibilities

Monitor construction activities and identify archaeological and/or paleontological resources.
Communicate effectively with construction crews and project personnel.
Write and maintain daily survey logs and records, including GIS mapping.
Assist with coordination and reporting on ongoing projects.
