Job summary

Amazon is hiring for a Security Engineer SoC to identify security flaws in chips and low level software powering Amazon devices. You will review designs, perform tests, and help drive secure hardware architectures across devices like Fire TV, Echo, Ring, and more.

You will guide secure development, perform threat modeling, code reviews, and security testing, while developing tools to scale security across devices. A strong background in hardware security and systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of hardware security mechanisms, including secure boot, trusted execution environments.
• Knowledge of operating system internals, with emphasis on Linux and common RTOS environments.
• Semiconductor reverse engineering.
• 3+ years of hands on experience for system level threat modeling, secure code reviews, cryptography, SoC level security fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Guide secure development of devices from security design to code reviews and testing.
• Develop tools and techniques to improve device security at scale.
• Provide security expertise and consultation to device product teams.
• Identify security risks and work with engineers to create mitigations.
• Develop new security policies and training materials.
• Promote security awareness and training across teams.
• Contribute to projects that develop new intellectual property.
