Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a SoC Physical Design Engineer focused on STA/Timing to drive the timing closure from netlist to tapeout for a high-performance SoC.

You will debug constraints, develop timing infrastructures, and create ECOs while collaborating with design and PD teams to address issues and ensure optimal performance. Strong scripting in Perl/TCL and SPICE familiarity preferred.

Description

• Work with design teams to understand and debug constraints and facilitate logic changes to improve timing.
• Work with the Physical Design team, highlighting issues and best practices.
• Help create timing ECO’s for project tapeout.
• Create and maintain scripts and methodologies for analysis and runs.
• Create documentation and help with guidelines/specs.
• Deep analysis of timing paths to identify key issues.
• Implement timing infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree with 0+ years industry experience
• Experience with STA.
• Experience with noise, crosstalk, and/or OCV effects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with important aspects of timing of large high-performance SoC designs in sub-micron technologies.
• Experience with STA and methodologies for timing closure.
• Familiar with circuit modeling, including SPICE models, and/pr worst-case corner selection.
• Good programming skills with Perl and TCL.
• Experience with large design STA and Timing Closure.
• Familiar with ECO techniques and implementation.
• Good communicator who can accurately describe issues and follow them through to completion.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $194,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
