The role follows a Thu–Sat 12-hour shift pattern with alternating Wed 8-hour shifts, requiring 5+ years IT experience and 3+ years SOC ops, plus DoD clearance eligibility and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Willingness to work the specified 12-hour Thu-Sat shifts and every other Wed.
• Minimum 5 years IT experience and 3 years SOC operations.
• DoD 8570 CSSP Analyst, Infrastructure, or Incident Responder certs (e.g., CEH, CySA+, CCNA+, SSCP, GIAC).
• Experience managing firewall, IDS/IPS, and router ACL policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate the SOC 24/7/365 to protect DoD information systems and infrastructure.
• Develop a SOC Communications Plan.
• Support COOP exercises and extend SOC operations to alternate sites as needed.
• Produce technical reports on incidents, recovery costs, and threat landscape.
• Author and implement custom detection content and dashboards.
• Tune SIEM/IDS/IPS to minimize false positives.
• Analyze SOC metrics and coordinate ISS-related incidents.
• Support intrusion detection sensors and forensic analyses on digital media.
