I. Position Summary

This Tier I level analyst will act as a core member of the Network Security Operations Center (NSOC) team, contributing to overall operational readiness and supporting a 24/7 shift schedule. Interested candidates must be willing to take on various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

II. Description of Duties

• Monitoring & Response: Provide proactive, on-site monitoring and response for mission-essential communication sites and information systems.
• Alert Management: Classify, prioritize, and elevate alerts promptly to ensure timely resolution.
• Triage & Analysis: Follow established procedures for data collection, triage, analysis, classification, and escalation to meet performance targets. Collect and analyze technical data to distinguish valid issues from false positives and maintain triage accuracy standards.
• Event Logging: Capture, log, respond, and elevate events from email, chat, voice, and other systems with accurate documentation.
• Process Improvement: Work with team members to develop and refine playbooks, dashboards, metrics, and detection strategies.
• Incident Support: Coordinate effectively with stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of incidents and recommended response actions. Provide support during network and security incidents, assisting with resolution efforts as directed.
