Job summary

Red Lodge Mountain is seeking an energetic Snowsports Instructor to promote skiing and snowboarding, delivering safe, engaging lessons for guests. You will assist the Snowsports Manager in daily department tasks and duties.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, booking lesson packages with RTP, and ensuring customer satisfaction through friendly service. Ability to teach all ages and adapt terrain to guest levels is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong interpersonal communication with guests and staff.
  • Knowledge of RTP software and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and policy knowledge.
  • PSIA/AASI certification preferred for advanced instruction.
  • Experience in the ski industry is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and schedule Snowsports employees.
  • Attend safety meetings and ensure guest safety.
  • Use RTP to book lesson packages for guests.
  • Provide friendly, efficient service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Instruct guests in skiing or snowboarding using modern teaching methods.
  • Select terrain appropriate to guest skill level.
  • Attend training clinics and work with children aged 3+.
  • Remove or relocate snow as needed and communicate with staff.
  • Maintain effective communication via in-person, phone, or radio.

Job Summary:

Promote the sport of skiing or snowboarding by providing safe, enjoyable, and effective Snowsport lessons for guests. Assists Snowsports Manager in daily tasks of department.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:
  • Supervise, train, and schedule Snowsports employees.
  • Attend RLM Safety Meetings.
  • Use RTP to book lesson packages.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service.
  • Instruct and educate guests in skiing or snowboarding using modern teaching techniques.
  • Select appropriate terrain for lesson according to guest skill level.
  • Attend training clinics.
  • Work with children 3 years and older.
  • Remove or relocate snow as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

Required:

  • Ability to work varied schedule including weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to supervise Snowsports employees.
Experience/Education

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working with the public.
  • PSIA/AASI certification.
  • Knowledge of the ski industry.
