Job summary

Lee Canyon Resort in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Seasonal Ski & Snowboard School Instructor to deliver safe, fun instruction to groups and individuals on varied terrains, upholding PSIA-AASI standards and guest safety.

You will work with guests aged 3 through adults, attend training sessions, assist with non-teaching tasks, and perform duties with a welcoming, professional demeanor while adapting to winter weather and fast-paced conditions.

Qualifications

• Intermediate ski/snowboard ability.
• Ability to work with all ages from children 3 yrs to adult.

• Able to work holidays and weekends per seasonal demands and business needs.
• Able to work in any weather condition.
• Sixteen (16) years or older at the time of hire.
• Able to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Instruct groups and individuals in alignment with Lee Canyon and PSIA - AASI teaching standards.
• Provide excellent guest service to guests 3 years old to adults.
• Attend all training sessions as assigned.
• Assist with non-teaching guest service functions (boot fitting, snow removal, snow fencing, etc.).
• Work comfortably with diverse cultures and ages in a team environment.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming appearance.
• Safely navigate uneven and slippery terrain.
• Adhere to all state and federal employment laws, company policies and safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lee Canyon Ski & Snowboard School Instructor will provide quality instruction to groups and individuals in a safe and fun manner while upholding the highest levels of guest safety on various high-altitude terrains and with varying winter weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSITBILITIES

• Can clearly and accurately instruct assigned Ski and Snowboard students in alignment with Lee Canyon and PSIA - AASI teaching standards.
• Have excellent guest service skills and be willing to work with guests of all ages from 3 years old to adults.
• Will attend all training sessions as assigned.
• Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken & written).
• Can assist with non-teaching guest service functions including but not limited to boot fitting, snow removal, snow fencing and any other duties as assigned by manager.
• Can work comfortably with various cultures and ages in a team environment.
• Has a clean and welcoming appearance.

Qualifications:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Certification preferred but NOT required
• Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring.
• Previous ski/snowboard instructor experience.
• Knowledge of local area/resort.
• Attained a high school diploma or equivalent credentials.
• Multilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or other Languages

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for a long period of time.
• Must be able to work outside in inclement weather and temperatures below 32 degrees for a long period of time.
