Job summary

MoDOT is seeking an Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator across Jackson County locations (Stadium, Lee's Summit, Independence) to perform routine snow removal duties under direct supervision. The role supports MoDOT’s mission and safety goals in winter weather operations.

Compensation varies by season: 1st season $26.00 hourly, 2nd–3rd seasons $27.11 hourly, 4th season $28.37 hourly. Overtime and night work may be required; CDL A or B with interstate status is required and a background check

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: At least 18 years of age.
• CDL Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (EI or NI).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
