Job summary

Snowbird is seeking a Snowmaking Systems Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and mechanical components of the snowmaking system. You will support pump stations, hydrants, and snow guns, ensuring reliable operations across the mountain.

You will read schematics, manage inventories, and lead others on maintenance projects. The role requires strong troubleshooting, safety discipline, and the ability to work in varied winter conditions at Snowbird Center, Snowbird,

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and basic electrical mathematics.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete work independently.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and mechanical equipment used in Snowbird's snowmaking system.
  • Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on pump stations, snow guns, vaults, hydrants, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Assist with the operation and monitoring of snowmaking equipment during production periods.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies needed to support snowmaking operations.
  • Lead and assist team members during maintenance projects and snowmaking operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and Mountain Operations policies.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.

Snowbird is a unique resort with distinct summer and winter seasons and offers full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.**TITLE:** Snowmaking Systems Technician**LOCATION:** Snowbird – Snowbird Center**STATUS:** Year-round, Full-time, Hourly**WORK SCHEDULE*** Winter (Mid-October to January): 5 to 6 days per week, 12-hour shifts (noon to midnight or midnight to noon).* Spring, Summer & Fall: Four 10-hour shifts per week (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).* Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.**SUMMARY**As a Snowmaking Systems Technician, you will work under the direction of the Snowmaking Manager to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and mechanical components of Snowbird's snowmaking system.
