Job summary

Inovalon, Inc. in Bowie, MD, is seeking a Staff Cloud Data Platform Engineer to own and evolve our Snowflake data platform, focusing on reliability, performance, automation, security, and cost optimization. This platform engineering role emphasizes automation and operational excellence.

You will enable data, AI, and ML teams with scalable platform capabilities while partnering with engineering to address complex challenges and maintain governance and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake platform engineering and administration.
• Experience with Snowflake security, RBAC, networking, governance.
• Experience with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code tooling and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Strong SQL, troubleshooting, automation and scripting, and production engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize the Snowflake platform, including compute and workload management.
• Drive Snowflake cost optimization and FinOps practices across the organization.
• Build automation for provisioning, configuration, monitoring via IaC and CI/CD.
• Manage Snowflake security, RBAC, networking, and governance.
• Enable data, AI, and ML teams with scalable, reliable platform capabilities.
• Establish and maintain platform monitoring, observability, and production support.
