Job summary

Mammoth Mountain Ski & Ride School is seeking seasonal instructors to teach lessons to the public within PSIA/AASI certification ranges. You will provide quality lessons with safety and guest service at the forefront, while helping guests enjoy the Mammoth Lakes experience.

Eligible candidates have Level 1–3 PSIA/AASI certification or international equivalents, strong communication, and ability to work in a team with children.

Qualifications

• Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 PSIA/AASI teaching certification or international equivalent required.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Teach lessons to the general public within certification range.
• Provide high-quality lessons with emphasis on safety and guest service.

Wage ranges for certifications:

• Level 1 - $21 to $25
• Level 2 - $25 to $36
• Level 3 - $30 to $45

A little about the position: Teaches lessons to the general public within certification range, utilizing recognized methodology accepted by the PSIA/AASI or ISIA. The Mammoth Ski & Ride School is one of the top Ski and Ride Schools in the nation.

We have a fun, dynamic and diverse staff of instructors from around the world who love working with people, sharing their joy of winter sports and striving to be the best Pros in the industry!

Certified Snowboard Instructors can expect to teach group and private lessons to a range of age groups from 3-year olds to adults. As an experienced instructor, you will be expected to provide a quality lesson, with an emphasis on safety and fun, while upholding the highest levels of guest service. Please note, the majority of our guests are younger children.

Mammoth Ski & Ride School provides world class training opportunities to all instructors through its day off certification training program and daily paid training from 8:30am to 9:30am (group lessons start at 10:00am). Mammoth Ski & Ride School was awarded the inaugural PSIA/AASI Western Division School of the Year in April 2026.

NOTE: Start date options are November 17, December 8, or December 14. Must be able to work till April 11. There is typically instructing work available till end of May. Ski & Ride School employee housing is currently full for the 26/27 season. Successful applicants can be placed on an employee housing waitlist; however, it is unlikely that a spot will become available until mid-way through the season.

Requirements:

• Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 PSIA/AASI teaching certification or international equivalent required.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to develop in the realms of people, teaching, and technical skills.
• Experience working with children.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
