Job summary

The Arizona Snowbowl is seeking an instructor to teach skiing and snowboarding, demonstrate progressions, and promote safety in every class. You will supervise groups, engage children and adults with fun teaching methods, and communicate progress to parents while adhering to department policies.

Applicants should be able to work in varied winter conditions, wear the uniform correctly, and adapt to schedule changes as part of a dynamic ski school team.

Job description

To provide safe, professional, competent and fun instruction skiing and/or snowboarding at The Arizona Snowbowl. Teach skills and techniques in a clear concise manner per the department's policies and progressions.Essential Functions:Possess the ability to physically and verbally demonstrate the tasks and skills associated with teaching snowsports progressions.Make appropriate decisions regarding student progressions, terrain, and teaching different abilities/attitudes.Promote and emphasize safety in all classes.Act as an educator including but not limited to crowd supervision, safety awareness, terrain park etiquette, responsibility code, and guest relations by performing assigned duties.Working with Children and Adults:Possess a strong ability to engage and connect with children and adults, using fun and interactive teaching methods.Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for our younger students, providing constant supervision.Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and daily activities.Instructor assignments could change frequently throughout their work day.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions listed below.Wear assigned uniform jacket with solid black snow pants. Uniforms must be clean with accessories appropriate for ski and snowboard professionals.
