Job summary

The State of Minnesota, via the Minnesota Department of Transportation, is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker with Snow & Ice to support safe year-round road operations in Clearwater. Familiar with road maintenance, snow removal, and equipment operation; requires a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.

Typical day shifts, overtime possible during severe weather; must be able to report within one hour of call.

Qualifications

• Experience in snow/ice, soils, road/ roadside maintenance, and related activities.
• Education may substitute with Heavy Equipment Operation & Maintenance Program (60 credits).
• Class A CDL with no air brake restriction and tanker endorsement is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and reconstructs roadways, rights-of-way, shoulders with gravel, bituminous, and concrete surfaces.
• Performs snow removal and anti-icing/de-icing on highways.
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment and performs post-storm cleanup.
• Maintains documentation on snow/ice data for inventory and resource management.
