Job summary

Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is hiring a Highway Maintenance Worker/Snow & Ice – Transportation Generalist for Ada, Baudette, and Thief River Falls truck stations. The role focuses on road maintenance, snow/ice control, and related operations with CDL (Class A/B) and tanker endorsement required.

The position offers up to $65,980 annually and comprehensive benefits, with a strong emphasis on safety, training, and public service.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with tanker endorsement and no air brake restriction; Class A to be obtained within 6 months.
• One year of experience in snow/ice, soils, road surface/roadside, bridge maintenance, signs, or related activities.
• Education coursework can substitute for one year of experience with transcripts provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconstruct roadways, rights-of-way, and roadside areas including drainage and guardrail work.
• Perform snow and ice control, operate snowplows and related equipment, and conduct pre/post-storm inspections.
• Maintain documentation on snow/ice data and inventory for resource management.
