Job summary

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is looking for a skilled snowcat operator to groom and maintain trails. You will build and maintain ramps and lift-station areas and use SNOWsat to manage equipment movements.

The role requires at least 3 years’ snowcat experience, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends. Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid drivers’ license.
• Must be available to work on a flexible basis including: days, nights and weekends.
• Minimum 3 years of snowcat experience required.
• Winch cat experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills required.
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for grooming trails in a reasonable period of time.
• Responsible for building and maintaining ramps and digging out lift stations.
• Use SNOWsat to check equipment in and out. (e.g. snowcats, snowmobiles, and rangers)
• Report any suspicious mechanical issues or abnormal performance of equipment to the Vehicle Maintenance department via SNOWsat.

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and cooperate with other departments as necessary in the completion of the above essential duties.
• Aid in building and maintaining terrain parks
• Aid in the training and monitoring of less experienced staff.
• Provide information and answer questions about the resort to resort guests.
• Any other duties that may contribute to the cleanliness, orderliness and overall efficiency of the entire operation and all the tasks contained therein.
