Job summary

Catamount Ski Resort is seeking a dedicated Snowcat Operator/Groomer for the winter season to join our mountain operations team. The role centers on grooming trails every night to prepare for guests' mornings, with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will operate a snowcat and other vehicles, perform pre-trip inspections, and coordinate with maintenance. The job requires long hours, including nights and weekends, and the ability to work in extreme weather.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers or other diesel/hydraulic machinery.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• Comfortable working in a small team and independently.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Punctual and reliable, with the ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, specifically a snowcat, to groom and maintain ski trails to the highest standard.
• Move, flatten, compact, and till snow to create ideal surfaces.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and regular maintenance checks on equipment, including checking fluid levels, track tension, and other critical components.
• Document and report any mechanical or safety issues to the maintenance team.
• Operate other vehicles such as snowmobiles and UTVs as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other departments and communicate effectively via a two-way radio.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
