Job summary

Wintergreen Resort in Virginia is seeking a Snow Groomer for a seasonal night shift. You will perform grooming operations to produce the best snow surface for our guests, working with limited supervision.

You must be in good physical condition, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and communicate via two-way radio with the team. The role requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays, with safety as a priority on equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be in good physical condition and able to work 12+ hour shifts outside in adverse weather.
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds when necessary.
• Capable of walking on snow safely and communicating via two-way radio with management.

Responsibilities

• Groom slopes to produce the best product for guests.
• Respond quickly to requests by management.
• Understand and perform safety aspects of equipment operation.
• Be aware of skiers/snowboarders on runs and traverses, and of fixed obstacles.
• Use lights and other warning equipment at all times.
• Ensure equipment is in safe working order prior to and during use.

Wintergreen takes pride in producing the best snow surface for our customers. Much of this work is done late at night to keep the slopes open for daytime operations**PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:*** Able to groom slopes to produce the best product possible for our guests.* Have a positive attitude towards guest service.* Able to respond quickly to requests by Management.* Understand and perform all safety aspects of equipment operation, for example;* Be aware of skiers/snowboarders on runs and traverses.* Be aware of fixed obstacles; hydrants, manholes, transformers, etc.* Use lights and other warning equipment at all times.* Assure equipment is in safe working order prior to and during its use.## Qualifications# **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*** Qualified applicants will be in good physical condition and able to work 12+ hour shifts outside in adverse weather conditions.* Be able to lift over 50 pounds when necessary.* Capable of walking on snow safely.* Heavy equipment experience* Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with Manager, Compressor Building, and other snowmakers by use of two-way radio.* Additionally, candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.## **Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:**High school diploma OR GED. **LICENSE****AND****CERTIFICATION****REQUIREMENT(S):*** Must possess a valid, unrestricted Virginia driver’s license.# **PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:*** Required to sit for extended periods, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, stretch, reach, lift, climb and walk.* Occasional lifting of objects of up to 50 pounds.* Must be able to tolerate long hours on the job and working in cold weather conditions.* Must be able to walk outside in winter conditions# **BENEFITS OF WORKING AT WINTERGREEN:**Wintergreen Resort is a place for mountain lovers, adventure seekers and outdoor explorers.
