Shaw's Garage in Florham Park, NJ is hiring a full-time Snow Equipment Junior Mechanic. You will install and service Fisher plows, salter spreaders, hydraulic inserts, lift gates, hitches, lighting, and flatbeds, and repair equipment from top brands to ensure winter readiness.

This entry-level role offers a 4-day summer schedule (Mon-Thu, 8am-5pm) and a 5-day winter schedule (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) with occasional Saturdays and overtime. Health coverage, PTO, and employee discounts are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to diagnose, service and repair plows and salter spreaders.
• Wiring knowledge is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Physical ability to meet job demands.

Responsibilities

• Install Fisher plows, salter spreaders, hydraulic dump inserts, lift gates, hitches, lighting, and flatbeds.
• Service and repair equipment from Fisher, Western, and Meyer; inspect trailers.
• Perform general repair work and ensure equipment is safe and ready for winter.

DELVE DEEPER INTO THIS ENTRY-LEVEL JOB

As a Snow Equipment Junior Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers are prepared for New Jersey's challenging winters. Your daily responsibilities will include installing Fisher plows, salter spreaders, hydraulic dump inserts, lift gates, hitches, lighting, and flatbeds. Additionally, you will service and repair equipment from top brands such as Fisher, Western, and Meyer, as well as inspect trailers and handle general repair work. Your main focus will be to ensure that every piece of equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for winter conditions.

During the summer, you'll work a comfortable 4-day week, Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm. Once winter hits, your schedule extends to Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional Saturdays and overtime so our customers can rely on us when they need it most.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
