Job summary

Ohana Pacific Health in Hilo, HI is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care to residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

The RN administers medications, transcribes physician orders, maintains medication inventory, conducts comprehensive resident assessments, and performs admission, transfer, and discharge assessments. Hawaii license required with at least two years of RN experience; geriatrics background preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Hawaii RN license required.
• At least two (2) years of RN experience.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• First Aid and CPR preferred (in-house).

Responsibilities

• Administers medications/treatments as ordered by the physician per policy.
• Transcribes physician orders to MAR, care plans, and resident chart.
• Maintains inventory of resident medications and medical stock supplies.
• Conducts accurate physical assessments of residents and plans interventions.
• Performs admissions, transfers, and discharge assessments.

The Position:

We're looking for passionate Registered Nurses to help us with providing professional nursing care to residents following established policies and procedures of the facility.

• Administers medications/treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Takes telephone orders from physicians and transcribes orders to new medication administration record, the pre-printed physician order sheet, resident chart, treatment/care plans as appropriate.
• Maintains & orders appropriate inventory of resident medications and medical stock supplies.
• Conducts accurate physical assessments of residents, determines their needs and implements appropriate interventions to meet those needs.
• Performs assessments on admission, transfer and/or discharges.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawaii required.
• At least two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation required.
• First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).
