Job summary

Ohana Pacific Health in Hawai'i is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide professional nursing care to residents according to facility policies and procedures. You will administer medications, transcribe orders, manage medication inventories, and perform assessments.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, holds Hawaii LPN licensure, has geriatric experience, and knowledge of medical terminology. First Aid/CPR is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Hawaii LPN license required.
  • Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations required.
  • First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).

Responsibilities

  • Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
  • Takes telephone orders from physicians and transcribes orders to MAR, physician order sheet, resident chart, treatment/care plans as appropriate.
  • Maintains inventory of resident medications and medical stock supplies. Orders required medications/treatments from the pharmacy / other supplier.
  • Conducts accurate physical assessments of residents, determines their needs, and implements appropriate interventions to meet those needs.
  • Performs assessments on admission, transfer and/or discharges.
