Job summary

PIM Brands, Inc. in Somerset, New Jersey is seeking a Food Scientist to apply food science and engineering principles to develop and commercialize snack products.

You will work cross-functionally with R&D, Process Engineering, QA/QC, Production, Packaging, Procurement, and Marketing to bring concepts from bench-top to full-scale manufacturing, with a focus on flavor, texture, shelf life, and consumer acceptance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field is required.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• 2+ years in food product development, R&D, or manufacturing preferred.
• Snack food development and commercialization experience preferred.
• Experience scaling formulations from bench-top through pilot trials to full-scale manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve snack products through formulation and prototype development.
• Conduct ingredient evaluation and trend research.
• Improve flavor, texture, color, quality, shelf life, and manufacturability.
• Coordinate pilot plant and manufacturing trials and support scale-up.
• Document testing results and recommendations.
