Job summary

AMD is hiring an SMTS IT Engineer to design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouses, and multidimensional networks. The role sets standards for database operations, programming, and security; plans and directs analysis of complex business problems with automated solutions.

The position involves modeling and constructing large relational databases, optimizing data models for warehouse infrastructure, and managing Kafka and Spark at scale.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent and 6+ years progressive post-baccalaureate experience also acceptable.
• 4 years of experience in related engineering or technology lead role required.

Responsibilities

• Design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks.
• Set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security.
• Plan, conduct, and direct analysis of business problems with automated systems solutions.
• Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses.
• Create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow.
• Manage Kafka producer and Spark consumer at a very large scale.
• Design and implement Flink and Spark-based ETL flow.
• Optimize and scale Iceberg Lakehouse.
• Manage Data Integrity and Data Security for various big Data Platforms.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to exploit new technologies to enhance applications and service infrastructure.
• Manage scalable on-prem and cloud environment in Azure, GCP and AWS.
• Contribute to development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture.

Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring SMTS IT Engineer to Design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks. Set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security. Plan, conduct, and direct the analysis of business problems with automated systems solutions. Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses. Create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow. Manage Kafka producer and spark consumer on a very large scale. Design and implement Flink and Spark-based ETL flow. Optimize and scale Iceberg Lakehouse. Manage Data Integrity and Data Security for various big Data Platforms. Enterprise Data Warehousing scalability using Snowflake, Dremio, and Databricks Lakehouse. Collaborate effectively with other technical teams to exploit new technologies to enhance the applications and service infrastructure. Manage highly scalable on-prem and cloud environment in Azure, GCP and AWS. Contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering or technology lead role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering or technology lead role.
