Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced SMT Solderer in Wilmington, CA to support the assembly, repair, and rework of complex PCBs. You will hand-solder surface mount and through-hole components, perform quality inspections, and ensure IPC standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in electronics assembly, PCB or SMT production.
• J-STD-001 Class III Solder Certification required.
• Experience soldering SMT and through-hole components.
• Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.
• Experience with rework, touch-up and repair processes.
• Ability to read/interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and BOMs.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of ESD handling and electronics manufacturing best practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision hand soldering of SMT and through-hole components on PCBs.
• Install, remove, and replace resistors, capacitors, ICs, connectors, and other components.
• Conduct rework and repair using soldering irons, hot air tools, microscopes, and rework equipment.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, schematics and engineering changes.
• Inspect solder joints and assemblies for IPC and customer specs.
• Identify defects and document workmanship issues.
• Assist troubleshooting and correction of manufacturing defects.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Follow ESD, safety and quality procedures.
• Assist production teams to meet delivery schedules and goals.
