Job summary

Foxconn Industrial Internet - FII in Houston is seeking a Rework Technician to perform rework and touchup on SMT and PTH components, including pad repair, trace repair, and BGA rework. You will apply IPC-7711 and IPC-A-610 workmanship standards to ensure high-quality PCBA output.

The role involves collaborating with SMT line operators and Process Engineers, ensuring compliance with guidelines, and performing daily 5S activities while maintaining strong safety practices on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or above with electronics focus preferred.
  • Experience in PCBA rework and touch-up is required.
  • Ability to read IPC-7711/IPC-A-610 guidelines and apply them.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve product and part quality issues on the line.
  • Perform SMT and PTH rework, including BGA tasks as needed.
  • Follow process instructions and safety procedures on the floor.
  • Use LCR meters and microscopes for inspection and measurement tasks.
  • Maintain good attendance and communicate with operators and engineers.

Rework Technician

Contract Position – Temp-to-Hire

Locations: Houston (IB4)

Business Units: CESBG

Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary

The primary function of this role is to perform rework and touchup on both SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and PTH (Plated Through Hole) components. Responsibilities include executing complex repair tasks such as pad repair, trace repair, and BGA (Ball Grid Array) rework. The role requires a strong understanding of IPC-7711 PCBA rework standards and IPC-A-610 workmanship standards to ensure high-quality PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) output

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving product and part Quality Issues.
  • Good communication skills for feedback to SMT line operators and Process Engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with process guidelines, procedures/work instructions.
  • Conduct (Ball Grid Array) BGA Inspections and inspection.
  • Basic Computer Knowledge to operate the E-Fox shop floor control system.
  • Perform SMT Component and PTH Rework skills.
  • Responsible for good attendance and working at the station on time after breaks.
  • Responsible to feedback on any safety issues on the production floor.
  • Daily 5S activities on the production floor.
Basic Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of PPI (Pre-Production Issues), MPI (Manufacturing Process Instructions), and handling of deviations.
  • Excellent hand soldering skills.
  • Ability to use LCR Meters and Microscopes for inspection and measurement tasks.
  • Familiar with soldering tips and heat guns.
  • Good communication skills and strong awareness of workplace safety.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail in precision tasks.
Education and Experience
  • High school graduate or above.
  • Over 3-5years of hands‑on experience in Rework Touch-Up in the areas of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) electronics manufacturing services industry.
