Job summary

Compal USA Technology Inc. seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure supplier performance across incoming materials, SMT, server assembly, and RMA operations.

You will own supplier quality lifecycle, drive defect prevention, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement for high-density GPU boards and high-power servers. You will lead SCAR/8D, RCA, containment, and effectiveness verification; support NPI with FAI and supplier readiness; and mentor SQE/IQC teams while coordinating

Qualifications

• Experience in AI server / GPU manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience in supplier audits and qualification.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier quality lifecycle from qualification to corrective action.
• Lead RCA for supplier-related failures and manage SCAR/8D.
• Drive containment, root-cause validation and effectiveness checks.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI): FAI and supplier readiness for new server builds and technologies.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, IQC and Production Quality.
• Define and drive supplier quality strategy for high-density GPU boards and high-power server architectures.
• Lead supplier qualification and development, including new supplier onboarding and technology readiness validation.
• Implement risk-based supplier management and optimize incoming inspection.
• Lead supplier audits and technical reviews (SMT, PCBA, mechanical) and quality system audits (ISO 9001).
• Analyze RMA and field failure data to identify systemic supplier issues and drive permanent CAPAs.

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring supplier performance meets Compal’s quality, reliability, and delivery expectations across incoming materials, SMT, server assembly, and repair (RMA) operations.

This role owns supplier quality lifecycle management—from qualification to corrective action—driving defect prevention, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.

The SQE directly impacts:

• Manufacturing continuity (line stop prevention)
• Customer quality performance (RMA reduction)
• Supplier accountability and development
• High-reliability performance of AI server and GPU systems

Additional Responsibilities

• Develop and manage supplier quality performance metrics:
• Analyze and drive improvement on:
• Mechanical and integration issues
• Field return (RMA) failure modes
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for supplier-related failures
• Own SCAR / 8D execution:
• Ensure containment, root cause validation, and effectiveness verification
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI):
• First Article Inspection (FAI)
• Supplier readiness for new server builds and technologies
• Partner cross-functionally with:
