Job summary

A leading electronics testing company in Colorado Springs is hiring a Process Technician, Surface Mount Technology to support SMT operations. You will maintain SMT equipment, troubleshoot issues, and drive process improvements in a 40-hour work week on site.

The role requires an associate degree or related experience, plus hands-on SMT and documentation skills. ISO/quality experience and lean initiatives are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, SMT, or electronics production environments.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and docs.
• Proficiency with MS Office and electronic documentation systems.
• Experience with SMT equipment and processes preferred.
• Knowledge of soldering, rework, inspection techniques preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment like DMMs/oscilloscopes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve SMT equipment, process, and production issues across paste printing, placement, reflow, inspection, and assembly.
• Perform setup, changeovers, preventive maintenance, repairs, calibration, and production support to maximize equipment reliability.
• Collect and analyze process and downtime data; assist with corrective actions and process development.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process docs, equipment records, and tooling planning.
• Collaborate with operators, technicians, engineers, quality, and maintenance; participate in Lean and safety initiatives.
