Job summary

Sargent Manufacturing in New Haven, CT, is hiring a full-time SMT Process Engineer to develop and optimize PCB assembly processes, including stencil design, solder paste application, pick-and-place, and reflow soldering. You will lead DOEs, PFMEA, and drive process improvements with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years in SMT, experience with conformal coating, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in SMT manufacturing, including conformal coating processes.
• Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing and process development.
• Proficiency in SMT equipment operation, programming, and troubleshooting (e.g., placement equipment, SPI, AOI, printers, ovens).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to lead root cause investigations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
