Job summary

picamanufacturingsolutions is seeking an SMT technician to program and operate Mycronic pick-and-place machines and Jet Printer, and to set up reflow ovens.

The role emphasizes high quality, productivity, and safety as you inspect assemblies, read blueprints, and perform preventive maintenance where needed.

Candidates should have strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and IPC-A-610 knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Attention to details and precision in PCB assembly.
  • Mycronic training or machine skills is a plus.
  • Good computer skills and ability to read specs and drawings.
  • Able to read blueprints, job orders, drawings, schematics, and process sheets.
  • Knowledge of 3D X-Ray is a plus.
  • Component identification skills.
  • Knowledge of solder pastes and their applications.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 specification.

Responsibilities

  • Program and run Mycronic pick and place machines.
  • Program and run Mycronic Jet Printer.
  • Set up and operate the reflow oven.
  • Setup and operate production equipment for quality and productivity.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure assemblies meet print and workmanship standards.
  • Inspect solder paste and component alignment for accuracy.
  • Identify defects per workmanship standards.
  • Perform manual SMT/PIH placement when needed.
  • Load feeders and wash boards as required.
  • Electrical testing of assemblies.
  • Inspect product with microscope, halo light, and X-Ray as required.
  • Stencil and screen PCBs as required.
  • Troubleshoot pick-and-place issues.

Job description

Position Overview:

Program and operate SMT machine to properly pick, place, and solder electronic components onto printed circuit board assemblies. To proactively perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenances to achieve on-time customer delivery performance with zero defects while maintaining productivity and safety standards.


Job Function:


  • Program and run Mycronic pick and place machines

  • Program and run Mycronic Jet Printer

  • Ability to program and set reflow oven

  • Setup and operate assigned production equipment while achieving goals for quality, efficiency, and productivity

  • Monitor the operation of equipment to ensure that assemblies are built to print and in compliance with applicable workmanship standards

  • Inspect printed solder paste and component alignment for accuracy

  • Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class

  • Perform manual placement of SMT and PIH components when needed

  • Load feeders for equipment and wash boards as needed

  • Electrical testing of assemblies as required

  • Inspect product using microscope, halo light, and X-Ray as required

  • Stenciling and screening of PCBs as required

  • Troubleshooting the pick and place machine when issues occur


Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, small print, and work instructions

  • Knowledge of 3D X-Ray is a plus

  • Component identification skills

  • Recognize and identify the different types of solder paste and their applications

  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 specification.
