Job summary

PICA Manufacturing Solutions is seeking an SMT Technician to program and operate Mycronic pick and place machines, jet printer, and reflow oven. You will ensure assemblies meet print and workmanship standards while maintaining safety and productivity.

Ideal candidates have strong attention to detail, experience with IPC‑A‑610, and basic inspection skills using microscopes or X‑Ray equipment. On‑site in Derry, NH with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and precise workmanship.
• Mycronic training or machine skills are a plus.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Program and run Mycronic pick and place machines.
• Program and run Mycronic Jet Printer.
• Ability to program and set reflow oven.
• Setup and operate production equipment to meet quality targets.
• Inspect assemblies for print accuracy and workmanship compliance.
• Perform manual placement and load feeders as needed.
• Electrical testing and basic inspection using microscope or X‑Ray.
• Troubleshoot SMT equipment when issues occur.

Job description

Position Overview

Program and operate SMT machine to pick, place, and solder electronic components onto printed circuit board assemblies. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance to achieve on-time delivery, zero defects while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

Job Function

• Program and run Mycronic pick and place machines
• Program and run Mycronic Jet Printer
• Ability to program and set reflow oven
• Setup and operate assigned production equipment while achieving goals for quality, efficiency, and productivity
• Monitor the operation of equipment to ensure that assemblies are built to print and in compliance with applicable workmanship standards
• Inspect printed solder paste and component alignment for accuracy
• Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
• Perform manual placement of SMT and PIH components when needed
• Load feeders for equipment and wash boards as needed
• Electrical testing of assemblies as required
• Inspect product using microscope, halo light, and X‑Ray as required
• Stenciling and screening of PCBs as required
• Troubleshooting the pick and place machine when issues occur
