Job summary

picamanufacturingsolutions in Derry, NH is seeking an SMT Technician to program and operate Mycronic pick-and-place machines and Jet Printer, set up reflow ovens, and ensure assemblies meet print and workmanship standards.

You will read blueprints and specifications, inspect solder paste and component alignment, troubleshoot equipment, and perform manual SMT placements as needed, with a focus on quality, productivity, and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specs and drawings.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standard preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Experience with Mycronic machines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate Mycronic pick-and-place machines.
• Operate Mycronic Jet Printer and set up reflow oven.
• Assemble PCBs to print and workmanship standards.
• Inspect solder paste and component alignment under microscope.
• Troubleshoot equipment and maintain productivity and safety.
• Load feeders, wash boards, and perform electrical tests as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and job orders to verify specs.
• Perform manual SMT placement when required.

Job description

Position Overview:

Program and operate SMT machine to properly pick, place, and solder electronic components onto printed circuit board assemblies. To proactively perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenances to achieve on-time customer delivery performance with zero defects while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

Job Function:

• Program and run Mycronic pick and place machines
• Program and run Mycronic Jet Printer
• Ability to program and set reflow oven
• Setup and operate assigned production equipment while achieving goals for quality, efficiency, and productivity
• Monitor the operation of equipment to ensure that assemblies are built to print and in compliance with applicable workmanship standards
• Inspect printed solder paste and component alignment for accuracy
• Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
• Perform manual placement of SMT and PIH components when needed
• Load feeders for equipment and wash boards as needed
• Electrical testing of assemblies as required
• Inspect product using microscope, halo light, and X-Ray as required
• Stenciling and screening of PCBs as required
• Troubleshooting the pick and place machine when issues occur

Skills Required:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, small print, and work instructions
• Knowledge of 3D X-Ray is a plus

• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 specification.
