Job summary

Emerald Technologies in Brea, CA is seeking an SMT Operator I to join our electronics manufacturing team. You will operate SMT production equipment, load components, monitor performance, and perform quality checks to ensure on-time delivery of customer products.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and prior SMT manufacturing experience, with strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous SMT manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to identify electronic components and verify part numbers, labels, reels, trays, and packaging.
• Basic understanding of SMT equipment operation and PCB assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate SMT production equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens, following work instructions.
• Load electronic components, reels, trays, and feeders to support production schedules.
• Monitor machine performance during runs and identify issues impacting quality or throughput.
• Perform visual inspections of PCBAs to verify quality and workmanship standards.
• Follow travelers, instructions, BOMs, and quality requirements to ensure accurate results.
• Assist with line changes, basic cleaning, and routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
