Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking an SMT Operator for our Milpitas, CA manufacturing client. You will support production and quality teams with precision, safety, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced electronics environment.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating printers, solder and reflow equipment, and recording process data to ensure traceability and quality. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of SMT pick-and-place experience and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of SMT pick and place experience.
• Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to read BOMs, drawings, instructions, and MPI.
• Familiar with part data and feeder sizes.
• Basic computer skills and IPC-610 standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and ESD practices according to company policies and procedures.
• Set up and operate programmable screen printers, gluing machines, SMT placement machines, and reflow ovens.
• Handle chemicals responsibly during operation and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Record activities accurately in operation logs to ensure traceability and quality control.
• Perform SMT equipment operations for machines including Fuji CP 4 & CP 6, GSM Universal, Dek, Heller Re-flow, and wave solder (ERSA).

Our client, an industry leader in electronics manufacturing, is seeking a dedicated SMT Operator to join their team. As an SMT Operator, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing department supporting production and quality assurance teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: SMT Operator

Location: Milpitas, CA

Pay Range:$24.50-25

Shift: Day Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)

What's the Job?

• Follow safety and ESD (electro-static discharge) practices according to company policies and procedures.
• Set up and operate programmable screen printers, gluing machines, SMT placement machines, and reflow ovens.
• Handle chemicals responsibly during operation and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Record activities accurately in operation logs to ensure traceability and quality control.
• Perform SMT equipment operations for machines including Fuji CP 4 & CP 6, GSM Universal, Dek, Heller Re-flow, and wave solder (ERSA).

What's Needed?

• 1-2 years of experience operating SMT pick & place machines.
• Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret documentation such as BOM, drawings, instructions, and MPI.
• Knowledge of Part data (size of parts) and Feeder size.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with IPC-610 standards and surface mount components.
