Job summary

Xlr8 Ems in San Diego, CA seeks an experienced SMT Technician to maintain and troubleshoot high-speed SMT equipment on a busy production line. You will work with pick-and-place machines (Mydata, MyCronic, Vitronic…), reflow ovens, printers, and AOI systems, performing PM and calibration to minimize downtime.

The role requires hands-on skills, strong knowledge of SMT process principles, and the ability to diagnose EM systems from schematics. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of SMT technician experience in a high-volume setting.
• Strong knowledge of SMT process principles (stencil printing, placement, reflow).
• Proficient troubleshooting of electromechanical systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 quality standards.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot high-speed SMT equipment on the production line.
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibration per schedules.
• Diagnose and repair equipment to minimize downtime and maximize line efficiency.
• Monitor SMT line performance; identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions.
• Train production operators on equipment use and maintenance procedures.
