Job Description

The right candidate for this position can set up and operate Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines, including screeners, placement machines, ovens, and AOI (automated optical inspection) machines, by performing the following duties:

1. Set up, operate, and shut down pick and place, screener, oven, AOI, and wash equipment.
2. Monitor, plan, and execute work orders.
3. Follow prints and sample assemblies or take verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
4. Select feeders, screens, and other equipment necessary for the job.
5. Position and secure boards in holding devices, machine tables, or fixtures, and load proper programs and modifications as needed. Set up fixtures or feeding devices and feed machines as necessary.
6. Observe machine operation and verify that completed assemblies conform to specifications.
7. The candidate should have SMT soldering proficiency and be responsible for the overall organization and quality of the work product.
8. May work extended hours based on company needs.
9. Occasionally lift and/or move items up to 35 pounds.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree (A.A.) or technical training is preferred. Candidates with six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are also suitable.

Additional Skills

• Experience in SMT operations and soldering skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to read and interpret safety, operating, and maintenance manuals.
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Experience with Mycronic/MyData or Universal machines is helpful.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, ESD protocols, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and solve practical problems.
