Job summary

The Health Center at Standifer Place in Chattanooga, TN is hiring a Smoking Monitor to oversee resident smoking at designated outdoor locations and times. The role requires you to be outside for the full shift, monitor safety, and assist residents with lighting cigarettes according to facility guidelines.

Responsibilities include maintaining smoking areas, coordinating with supervisors, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and supporting community relations while adhering to state and federal guidelines;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work with elderly residents.
• Ability to work with partners, family members, and community.
• Patience, good organizational skills, assertiveness and be conscientious.
• Present a professional appearance.
• Be flexible in working hours so that weekend or evening programs will be provided.
• Ability to understand and follow the Policy and Procedures set by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Respectful and supportive to supervisor.
• Assist and support the Supervisor in assessing patient to determine their ability to smoke securely.
• Effectively communicate with a supervisor all noted changes in the patients ability to participate during the smoking time.
• Maintain clean smoking areas, free of smoking paraphernalia, ensure smoking ash trays are emptied at the end shift.
• Assist and support positive public relations with the community and with other partners, patients, and families.
• Be aware of HCSP Standards and abide by the 20 Better Way Promises.
• Be aware of and follow HIPAA regulations.
• Be aware of and abide by weekly work schedule; be prepared and prompt.
• Be aware of and follow all State and Federal guidelines.
• Attend and support in-services and partner meetings as required.
• Be aware, support and follow all State, Federal, Company and Center Requirements, Policies and Procedures.
• Assure Resident Safety.
