Job summary
La Frontera EMPACT - Suicide Prevention Center seeks an SMI Peer Support Specialist to model recovery skills, guide individuals through the behavioral health system, and provide direct support as part of the Adult Recovery Team.
Responsibilities include building recovery plans, connecting clients to community resources, completing applications, and collaborating with the team. Requires a High School diploma, Peer Support Certification, and valid AZ driver license.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and Peer Support Certification.
- Eligible to obtain Peer Support Specialist Certificate.
- Must have personal experience with behavioral health services and willingness to share it.
Responsibilities
- Model skills to maneuver within the behavioral health system and act as a system guide.
- Provide direct support to individuals served and participate on the Adult Recovery Team.
- Develop and implement self-directed recovery plans with follow-up.
- Connect individuals to community supports and assist with resource applications.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and weekly supervision; maintain professional conduct.
