Job summary

La Frontera Center Inc. in San Tan Valley, AZ is seeking an SMI Peer Support Specialist to mentor clients within the behavioral health system and act as a guide on the Adult Recovery Team.

You will support individuals by helping develop recovery plans, connecting them with community resources, and delivering strengths-based, culturally competent services, including case management when needed. The role requires compassion, resilience, and reliable collaboration with staff and partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and Peer Support Certification are required.
• Eligible to obtain Peer Support Specialist Certificate.
• Must be a recipient or have received services through the community behavioral health system.
• Must be willing to share personal experiences with behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

• Model skills to navigate behavioral health systems and advocate.
• Provide direct support and be an active member of the Adult Recovery Team.
• Assist clients in developing and implementing recovery plans.
• Locate and connect clients to community resources and supports.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and supervision as requested.
• Drive 40 hours per week with at least 30 hours of direct client contact.
