Job summary

Vosper Thornycroft Group in Chantilly, VA seeks an experienced Software Developer to support enterprise classification tools and applications. You will work across a diverse stack including Java, Spring Boot, C/C++, .NET, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML/SOAP and Lotus Notes.

You will design, develop, deploy, and maintain both modern and legacy software, collaborating with teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions. Strong TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 11-15 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in Java and/or Python.
• Experience building Java applications and Spring Boot.
• Experience with JavaScript development, HTML/CSS.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise classification tools and applications.

The Software Developer will work across a diverse technology stack that includes Java, Spring Boot, C/C++, .NET, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML/SOAP, and Lotus Notes. The position involves both new software development and maintenance of existing legacy applications, including desktop, web-based, and service-oriented solutions.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise software applications and classification tools.

• Develop backend applications and services using Java.

• Develop Java applications utilizing the Spring Boot framework.

• Develop classification tools using scripts, APIs, and web services.

• Develop and maintain Microsoft desktop and web applications using:

  • C

  • C++

  • Visual Basic

  • .NET

• Develop solutions supporting Microsoft Office and Microsoft Web Office environments.

• Develop Java-based web services and applications utilizing Apache CXF.

• Deploy, configure, and support Java applications within Apache Tomcat environments.

• Develop and integrate applications utilizing XML and SOAP-based services.

• Develop JavaScript-based services supporting classification applications.

• Design and maintain web-based user interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Maintain and enhance existing Lotus Notes applications.

• Develop classification-related functionality within Lotus Notes environments.

• Troubleshoot, debug, modify, and enhance existing software applications.

• Support both modern and legacy software environments.

• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation associated with application development and maintenance.
