Job summary

Lumin8 Transportation Technologies is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to support construction, maintenance and repair of traffic signal systems and ITS. You will perform on-call and preventative maintenance, assist with supervision, and ensure safety standards and required certifications are maintained.

Proficiency in programming controllers, troubleshooting and using test equipment is essential. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and reliable transportation to the job site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have own transportation to and from work or access to company vehicle.
• Proficient in programming and setting up controllers, video detection, and communications equipment.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Proficient with test equipment: multimeter, loop analyzer, locator, controller tester, monitor tester.
• Proficient in traffic signal wiring.
• Able to read plans and schematics.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Able to perform heavy physical work and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Effective communication with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
• Maintain good working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Skilled and technical work in the construction, maintenance and repair of traffic signal systems, highway lighting, and ITS.
• On call duties, emergency trouble calls, preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, minor signal repairs, construction projects, locates, and cabinet installation, set-up & testing.
• Assist Foreman with supervision and training of subordinate employees.
• Complete and turn in required personal paperwork.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
• Communications with customers and other contractors.
• Responsible for maintaining and renewing required certifications and licenses.
• Abide by all the company safety rules
• Wear proper PPE while on the job site and in the yard for lifting operations to include Safety-toed work boots, safety vest, work gloves and hard hat.
