Job summary
Our Next Energy Inc. is seeking an Automation Integration Engineer to join our Novi, MI site. You will bridge manufacturing engineering, controls, equipment suppliers, and IT/OT.
You will lead automation integration on equipment installation, commissioning, and production ramp on the factory floor. The role requires strong PLC and HMI skills, robotics and vision system experience, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and throughput targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years in automation, controls, or manufacturing engineering in highly automated environments.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with industrial HMI systems.
- Experience integrating automated manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and equipment documentation.
Responsibilities
- Integrate automated manufacturing equipment, controls, robots, sensors, vision systems into manufacturing operations.
- Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC and HMI applications.
- Support PLCs, industrial networks, robots, drives, safety systems, and MES interfaces.
- Review electrical controls architecture and network designs for compliance.
- Lead or support equipment installation, commissioning, and production ramp.
- Troubleshoot complex automation issues and drive root-cause analysis.
