Amplify People in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Smart Home Technician to install and support smart home, audio video, camera, and network systems in residential settings. You’ll work with the lead technician and owner on a hands-on, field-based role across attic wiring, ceiling speakers, TV mounts, and network setups.

The path to growth includes moving into a lead technician role within a couple of years, with industry training and certifications guiding pay progression.

Qualifications

• Experience with low-voltage wiring and home electronics.
• Ability to run wire in attics and tight spaces.
• Willingness to pursue certifications and training.

Responsabilités

• Pull and terminate low-voltage cable in new and existing homes, including attics, walls, and ceilings.
• Install ceiling speakers and other audio equipment, including Sonos, and mount TVs.
• Install and set up camera systems.
• Support lighting control installs alongside the lead technician.
• Build equipment racks and set up clean, serviceable component and network gear.
• Learn and work with Control4 and other control platforms, including Apple HomeKit.
• Learn basic electrical tasks, such as relocating an outlet for a new TV location.
• Explain systems clearly and patiently to homeowners and represent the company professionally on every job.
• Work closely with the owner and lead technician to plan the best approach for each project.
