Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Field Service Technician/Professional to install and service smart home technology at customer sites in the Silver Spring area. This role blends technical duties with consultative on-site sales to provide upgrades and reliable home protection.

You will receive comprehensive training, a company vehicle, and ongoing coaching as you grow within the national organization. A strong emphasis on safety and customer care is highlighted throughout the position.

Qualifications

• A Sales Mindset: Experience in retail, B2C sales, insurance, or service-based sales is a major plus.
• Customer First Attitude: Build rapport with diverse customers with integrity.
• Technical Aptitude: Experience in cable/satellite install, pest control, construction, or solar is helpful but not required.
• Requirements: A valid driver's license and a good driving record; ability to pass background checks and licensing per applicable law.

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing, and troubleshooting security cameras, smart locks, and home automation systems.
• Evaluating customer homes to recommend and sell equipment upgrades or service enhancements on-site.
• Training homeowners on how to use their new system to protect their families.
• Growth: coaching and leadership training to move up within the national organization.
