Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking field service technicians to install, service, and troubleshoot smart home systems for customers across the United States. You will combine technical expertise with consultative selling to upgrade equipment and services on-site.

The role emphasizes a sales mindset, customer-first approach, and growth within a national organization. A valid driver’s license is required, and a company vehicle and tools are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, B2C sales, insurance, or service-based sales is a major plus.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse customers and act with integrity.
• Experience in cable/satellite install, pest control, construction, or solar is helpful but not required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record; pass post-offer background checks and licensing requirements per applicable law.

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing, and troubleshooting security cameras, smart locks, and home automation systems.
• Evaluating customer homes to recommend and sell equipment upgrades or service enhancements on-site.
• Training homeowners on how to use their new system to protect their families.
• Growth opportunities through coaching and leadership training within the national organization.
