Job summary

Garner Foods in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a full-time, on-site role. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, and maintain accurate logs to minimize downtime.

You will collaborate with the operations team, train associates, and ensure compliance with GMP and safety policies while supporting ongoing production improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Food processing experience with equipment troubleshooting and production equipment with advanced controls.
• Mechanical and pneumatic flow expertise; robotics-related packaging machinery installation and operation.
• Repair and troubleshooting of various pumps including centrifugal, PD, sine, and diaphragm types.
• Experience with automated conveyors, preventive maintenance, PLCs, and NEC familiarity.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work in a self-directed team.
• CMMS knowledge, preferably LIMBLE; general mechanical, electrical, and logic knowledge.
• Basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities maintenance skills.
• Adherence to GMP and safety guidelines (LOTO, machine guarding, PPE).
• Contribute to Production Improvement and temporary teams as needed.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain maintenance logs and ensure safety compliance.
• Collaborate with operations to minimize downtime and boost productivity.
• Train Associates on essential maintenance skills and equipment troubleshooting.
• Follow site Environmental and Safety policies and GMP guidelines.
• Support production needs and participate in improvement initiatives.
