Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Factory Enablement Intern to join Advanced Operations Engineering. You will explore digital tools, learn how AI, IoT, and factory software connect with hands-on manufacturing, and support pilot projects in a real-world setting.

You'll collaborate with DT/IT, EHS, Quality, and shop-floor teams, gain practical experience with Smart Factory technologies, and help deploy scalable digital solutions across sites.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related STEM field and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Experience with Python, Power BI, IoT systems, automation, or industrial software (MES, ERP, PLM).
• Experience working with data—cleaning, organizing, visualizing, or interpreting it.

Responsibilities

• Support digital tool deployment in smart factory environments and pilot projects.
• Prototype and deploy digital solutions within factories as part of a digital team.
• Assist with data collection, cleaning, and analysis for optimization efforts.
