Job summary

Siemens is offering a Smart Buildings Energy Engineering Internship in the San Diego area for undergraduate students. The 10‑week, full-time program starts May–June 2027 and exposes you to energy engineering, HVAC, and building automation topics.

You will learn by rotating through energy engineering, sales, and core business areas, supporting audits, data gathering, and proposals while engaging with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sustainability / Energy Engineering or related STEM field.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
• Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10‑week internship.

Responsibilities

• Rotating through energy engineering, sales, and core building areas to gain a holistic understanding of Siemens' smart building solutions.
• Support facility audits, gather field data, and identify opportunities for facility improvement measures (FIMs).
• Prepare energy savings analyses and assist with proposals for customers.
• Engage directly with clients and Siemens teams in meetings and site visits.
• Develop professional skills via exposure to go-to-market strategies and networking with other interns.
