Job summary

Open Control Systems (OCS) is part of the Envelop Group family and delivers customized field level automation for commercial HVAC with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

The Building Automation Controls Engineer will design, program, commission, and support BAS/DDC projects. The role splits time between the office and customer job sites to configure controllers, develop control sequences, and ensure fully operational building automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent training/experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with design, commissioning and programming of digital HVAC controls systems.
• Proficiency with Alerton, Tridium, or Siemens.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls in new construction and renovation projects, with ability to program and commission pre/post installation.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to operate independently and take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Configure and program HVAC building automation and control systems (direct digital controls) and create sequence of operations.
• Develop and test software programs to operate the system.
• Apply field change information for as-built drawings and software.
• Execute projects including system programming, integration, commissioning and closeout.
• Complete hardware design and software programming using established standards.
• Manage loading, device verification and commissioning of all system controllers; provide accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation.
• Perform site-specific training for owner/operator and provide documentation and manuals for system operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
