Job description

Small Hardware Repair Technician job in Charlotte Metro area, NC — Long term contract

Salary: 18.50/hour - 20/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Akkodis is seeking a Small Hardware Repair Technician to support hardware and software services such as mobile computers, barcode scanners, and cloud-based workflow tools. The successful candidate will focus on service repair for handheld scanners and other inventory scanners.

Responsibilities
  • Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
  • Identifies parts for replacement, places orders when needed, and tracks replacement parts.
  • Engages in Configuration and Depot processes.
  • Configures and deploys handheld products for customers, including devices from Samsung, Apple, Honeywell, and Zebra.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the lab, focusing on process enhancement, variation reduction, cycle time reduction, and cost savings.
  • Demonstrates creativity and latitude in problem solving and tasks.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
  • May require 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area; familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of tasks.
