Job summary

Planet Fitness in Troy, OH is seeking a Fitness Trainer to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment. You will lead small-group sessions, conduct new member orientations, and promote safe, inclusive workouts while guiding members toward their fitness goals.

The role focuses on on-site, day-shift work with responsibilities on member engagement, safety, cleanliness, and supporting front desk tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to work onsite; this is not a remote position.
• Nationally Certified Trainer (ACE, NASM, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA).
• Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.
• A passion for fitness and health.
• Upbeat and positive attitude.
• Punctuality and reliability required.
• Must obtain Tanning Certification within company timeframes.
• Background check including National Criminal Scan and other checks.
• On-site work is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead small-group fitness classes aligned with Planet Fitness standards.
• Conduct new member orientations and teach safe gym use.
• Provide general fitness instruction and encouragement; not one-on-one personal training.
• Promote proper equipment use and a welcoming environment for all fitness levels.
• Engage members on the gym floor to drive participation and retention.
• Support front desk operations as needed and assist with events/promotions.
